If you are visiting Kochi, make sure that you do not miss visiting Athirapally. This is famous for being the biggest waterfall in Kerala. This brilliant waterfall forms at the Chalakudy River at the entrance of the Sholayar Hill Range in Thrissur. It drops from a height of 80 feet and is really a remarkable sight. Athirapally looks like the Niagara waterfalls in the monsoon as the water and the streams gather strength at this time of the year. A 15-minute walk from the fall’s entrance can get you to the top. Once you get there, you can get a spectacular view of the Sholayar hills. You can only swim in the stream, which lie in the bottom of the falls. Some of the interesting places you can see here include the Vazhachal waterfalls, the Chapra Falls, the Anakkayam Sholayar Dam, Valparai, and the Malayattur Wildlife Sanctuary.
